Jann invites her high school friend Holly Fortier on the show this week to dig into Indigenous History Month and Indigenous Peoples' Day. Holly is Cree/Dene from Ft. McKay First Nation, Alberta, born in Treaty 7 Territory. Her business, Nisto Consulting, specializes in the development and delivery of Indigenous Awareness Training. Her passion for sharing Indigenous history and culture rises from her mother's inspirational survival from Residential School when she was a child. Holly's mission is to encourage respect and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians. To that end, she launched an award-winning film and television company called Two Canoes Media. Please find the short-film about her mother's residential school story HERE.
